States around the nation are looking to paralegals as a way to ease the access to justice crisis. Professor Toni Marsh, director of the GW Paralegal Studies program and a member of the DC Courts Task Force on Civil Legal Reform, will describe the various models, explain the enabling mechanisms, share outcomes, and invite audience feedback.
Attendees will be able to:
• Appreciate the scope of the access to justice crisis
• Describe the paralegal models that have arisen in response to the crisis
• Evaluate the outcomes of models that are in use
• Propose new models and approaches
